Due to our Prestige requirements many of you will have surpassed some of these levels. This post it to give the newer players a basic strategy for building a defensible, sustainable city. Mail me if you have any questions
Main City Basic Configuration
Walls:
Level 5 or better with 1000 Traps, 1000 Abatis and the walls filled with Archers Towers. As you level up your walls beyond this, keep filling them with AT's.
Buildings:
Town Hall, Embassy, Rally Point and Academy: Level 5 or Better
Beacon Tower: Level 5 with matching (or better) Informatics research in academy
Cottages: Eight- Level 5 or Better
Barracks: Five - Level 4 or better
Inn: Level 3
Feasting hall: level 3
Forges, Stable, workshop should be at least to levels required for building archers.
Notes: A Town Hall of level 5 or 6 is good for now. What your city looks like on the map is tied to the level of your town hall, not your walls. Keeping your city looking small will make it less of a target while you get up and going.
The Garrison box in Embassy should be checked to allow us to reinforce you
Heros:
Three- One configured for Politics, one for Attack and one for Intellegience.
Look for hero's that are level 1-10 with high overall beginning levels.
Make Attack hero mayor before building troops.*
Make Intelligence hero mayor before starting research in Academy.*
Make Politics hero mayor at other times
* You only keep these hero's mayor while you start research or start to queue up troops for training. Once started, change mayor back to Politics hero.
Troops:
50,000 scouts and 50,000 Archers - Theses are your most important defense troops. Build others as you are able, but concentrate on scouts and archers.
Resource fields:
configured to support above. A starting suggestion:
5- Level 9 Food, 13- level 9 lumber, 2-level 9 Stone and 5- Level 9 iron
Note: Resource fields can be demolished and re-configured as your needs change.
The above guidelines represent a basic sustainable and defensible city.Upgrades should be ongoing
This main city should be created before even thinking about obtaining another. A second City, before getting your first up and going, will be more of a distraction than a benefit.
